Almost done with old recaps, this includes my list I wanted show to address. Interesting that in "the end", I didn't care about getting them answerd

I’ll try and keep these short since I want to bring up what I feel the show MUST “answer” with only a few left…

"The Last Recruit"

Parallel Universe: This was all about setting everyone up for the final few episodes. I’ll just hit on a few things that I found interesting in the flash sideways…

Locke in the ambulance: Says he was GOING TO marry Helen. This to me indicates he was already being hit by island timeline flashes. Since she had left him and eventually died in this timeline. Also, Locke’s injury was to the dural sac. This of course was the same injury of the patient of the infamous Jack story that he told Kate about. Which also happened to have been the day that Jacob visited Jack.

When exactly is the sideways universe? It’s obviously not directly running parallel to the island universe because the sideways world is 2004. The island is 2007. Yet sideways Sun has memories of the Man In Black disguised as Locke. Could the sideways world be AFTER the island universe? Regardless, I’m expecting a big twist on this.

The “spark” of the island timeline seems to hit the 815 passengers when either they are in a traumatic moment (Desmond, Locke) or when they find their love (Charlie). I find it interesting that this did not happen when Kate and Sawyer were in the police station together. Which to me means they are not meant to be together. I wouldn’t be shocked if it happens when Sawyer meets Juliet (who I’m positive is Jack’s ex-wife) and when Kate meets Jack. These are the ones that are supposed to be together.

So by episodes end in the sideways world we have: Sayid arrested by Sawyer/Miles, Kate also at the jail. Jack operating on Locke in hospital. Sun recovering at hospital with Jin at her side. Jack and Claire aware of each other. Illana as a lawyer of fate almost. Bringing them together. Desmond still connecting people. Ben went with Locke to the hospital.

Island timeline: Felt like I was watching survivor. Alliances formed, secret plans, etc. MIB calls Locke a sucker for having faith and believing in something. Jack is pretty much as close to John Locke as you are going to get now. So he pretty much called Jack a sucker. As far as MIB being Christian/Jack’s dad. I believe every island appearance of Christian this is accurate. Because every appearance of Christian fits with the MIB’s plan to kill Jacob. I do not think however the appearance of Christian Shephard to Jack off island, and to Michael on the freighter were the MIB. The freighter was out of the island’s radius. There were also whispers. I believe this was the real spirit of Christian. Wouldn’t be shocked if he shows up again. As far as the manifestation of him at the hospital. I think this was simply the island haunting Jack that he needed to go back.

The boat that Sawyer and company stole from MIB was Desmond’s aka the Elizabeth that Libby had given him for his race around the world.

No way did Sayid kill Desmond. Sayid will prove that the scale inside of him can tip back to light. Which is exactly what he told Dogen, the temple master.

How the hell has Charles Widmore become the most intriguing mystery on the show? Is he good? Evil? He said via annoying Zoe that the plan with Sawyer was off. Great moment with Sun and Jin reuniting by the electronic fence.

Then just about every Other dies in a Widmore explosion. Those are your old people Charles! The MIB tells Jack that he’s with him. Hence the title “The Last Recruit”.

“The Candidate”

Parallel Universe: Loved every second of it. Jack/John are the heart and soul of the show. More scenes between the two of them the better. Bernard came across to me as if he was aware of the island universe. The way he was answering Jack, intriguing.

How the hell is it that a show can make u actually feel bad for a dude who has been nothing but evil? I’m talking about Locke’s dad. I don’t think Sawyer will ever find him in this universe. I think he’ll have to live with this torturing his soul and have to move on from it.

Locke is clearly having island experiences. “Push the button”, “I wish you had believed me”, did you see his double take of Jin as he passed him in the hospital?

This entire episode was a mirror image. The name of it alone… “The Candidate”. I believe it represented both Locke and the surgery and Jack being Jacob’s replacement. A plane crash made Locke able to walk again, this time it put him in the wheel chair. Locke’s dad caused him to be paralyzed. This time Locke did it to his father by accident. Locke and Jack had a huge debate in the hatch about pushing the button. Jack had screamed why Locke found it so easy to believe? This time it was Locke asking Jack about it being easy to let go. This entire hour had some cool role reversals. To the point where Jack, who had heard Locke say it in his sleep, fed Locke his suicide note to Jack… “I wish you would believe me.” What visualized this even more was the moment of Jack and Claire staring at their reflection in the mirror Christian had left for her.

Island timeline: Widmore clearly has the list of candidates. He is concerned for their well being. Obviously whatever Charles is after he doesn’t mind making sacrifices. Since Kate was not a candidate he had no problem getting rid of her if need be.

So who planted the bomb on the plane? I don’t think Richard, Ben; Miles have made it to the smaller island yet. I would say it was the Man In Black since he grabbed the watch before grabbing the bomb. When he was inside the plane though he didn’t know exactly where the bomb was. He found the wire first and followed it. Which makes me believe it was Widmore. Was he looking to kill everyone in the plane? I doubt it. I think he wanted to destroy it to keep the MIB from leaving.

Anyone notice MIB seemed rattled by the water? I guess it paralyzes his smoke turning abilities.

Inside the submarine: I 100% believe Jack was correct. The MIB can’t kill the candidates. Which makes me believe the little boy who told him he can’t kill them is definitely a spirit of young Jacob. Had they not done anything I am convinced that bomb would not have gone off.

The Deaths!... Well that was sad. We knew they were coming with a few episodes left. As soon as I saw the MIB hand Jack the backpack I knew it was gonna end bad. First let me say I think Frank is dead. Which is exactly why he’ll probably show up again. But he got hit hard by the sub door and I really think they can’t justify him being alive. Not to mention that if they are not taking a plane anymore there’s not much for him to do.

Sayid… His storyline this season was kinda leading to an inevitable death. He was one of my top 5 characters. I wish he was given a little more of a moment before they blew him away. I have no problem with them killing him off though. His character was always battling within. People were telling Sayid what he was: good, bad, etc. He was a man with a horrible past constantly looking for redemption. Even after turning to the dark side he was able to overcome. In the end he chose the light side. That was the point, in the end he CHOSE who he was, he wasn’t told. Interesting how he told Jack “It’s going to be you”, I guess Sayid strongly feels Jack will be the candidate.

Jin & Sun: Sun was always my favorite female character. Always found her to be the most interesting and had one of the stronger back-stories of anybody. I can’t say I was shocked that they killed off one of the Kwons. I was shocked that they did do it to both of them though. It was handled well though. What probably is the most shocking of all of this is that they killed them off 1 episode after they had finally united! Talk about wanting to show your audience that the MIB is one baaaaaaad dude. I guess we’ll never know which one was the Candidate. Unless it was both. Jacob had told them at their wedding that their love was special and not to take it for granted. They didn’t. So in an odd way this was the perfect ending for them. Island wise.

Interesting how the MIB would not let Claire get on board the sub. I think because he can kill her is exactly why he is keeping her alive. He wants to use her as bait against those he can’t kill. Hell probably do the same thing with Kate as well.

So to wrap things up, let’s see where everyone is…

MIB/Claire on Hydra Island. MIB was on his way to finish killing off everyone.

Widmore/Zoe and the few goons he has left: On the hydra island still. I’d imagine he doesn’t have to many people still alive.

Miles/Ben/Richard: They were going the Dharma barracks to get explosives, to then go to hydra island to blow up the plane. We can assume they probably have not made it to the Hydra island yet. PREDICTION: Miles gets killed in an outrigger when he, Ben and Richard are on their way to the Hydra and they see a time flashing Locke, Juliet, Sawyer, Miles and Dan in the water. Remember Juliet shot someone in the other outrigger. I bet Miles dies, via the outrigger that has a time traveling version of himself.

Frank:????????

Jack/Hurley/Kate/Sawyer: On the beach. Assuming still Hydra Island.

Desmond: In the old well. Waiting for Jack to get him free.

There was also a small group of Others who scattered into the jungle. This was the survivors of Locke’s group from the widmore blast. I’m going to guess its Cindy and the 2 kids and maybe 1-2 other people.

What Lost must address before the series ends.

I’ve accepted that I won’t learn more about the real Henry Gale and probably the bird that screamed out Hurley’s name. Although I must admit, I am more fascinated on how they could possibly answer the talking bird then anything else.

This is a list of things that the show must address before it ends. In my opinion of course. Not things I want answered. But actual questions that make the story work. Don’t even need 100% answers. Just more elaboration on so it is clear…

1. Widmore: What’s his motive? How was he able to come back to the island?

2. The rules of Widmore/Ben’s rivalry? Don’t need to know the rules as much as why they exist.

3. Jacob/MIB past: How did each get their roles? What are their rules? How did MIB become smoke, what’s up with his mom? MIB weaknesses: water, ash, not able to turn into anyone anymore *I’m pretty hopeful this week’s episode will clear up everything we need on this.

4. Why can’t women no longer survive pregnancy on the island? Last healthy baby born was Ethan in 1974. What happened? My assumption has always been that the incident caused some sort of radiation problem.

5. What exactly is the flash sideways? Doesn’t seem to be a direct parallel universe. I have confidence we’ll get this addressed.

6. Walt: Why were the others so interested in him. Just enlighten me more on his abilities, etc.

7. Who are Adam and Eve? Pretty sure this will get answered

8. Desmond’s vision that he told Charlie: Claire gets on a helicopter with Aaron. PREDICTION: It happens in the Sideways world.

9. The whole “what lies in the shadow of the statue” phrase. I doubt we get this. Probably just a fancy code. I want to know more though.

10. The random Dharma food supply drop in season 2. My guess is the helicopter came in on the island on the wrong bearing briefly and ended up in 2004.

11. * This one is not really needed but I would love more on it… When did MIB start using the cabin? How/when did the ash circle around it break?

12. Who were the people in the other outrigger shooting at the time travelers? My prediction is listed above.

Namaste!
